What are Smile Starters made from?

Reclaimed paper, sawdust and a beeswax blend. We give discarded materials another purpose as practical, snap-apart fire starters.

How many starters are in a pack?

There are 12 individual Smile Starters in each pack. Break off only what you need and follow the directions on the packaging.

What’s the difference between the two products?

Smile Starters help you get a fire started. The Original Fire Brick is our compact fuel product. Choose the product that fits your setup and follow its instructions.

Where are your products made?

Paper Trail is based in the Okanagan, British Columbia, and is a student-led social enterprise from Enactus Okanagan College. Local pickup is at Okanagan College; collection details are confirmed with your order.

Can I use these during a fire ban?

Always follow local fire restrictions and the rules for your campsite or appliance. A fire starter or fuel brick does not make a prohibited fire permissible.

Can my store carry Paper Trail?
